Loops and GDPR
Technology has advanced rapidly in recent years, and many of us now spend a significant portion of our lives online. As digital services request more information from users, it’s important to understand how your personal data is used and what rights you have. The GDPR provides stronger rights for individuals and places strict requirements on service providers and their subcontractors regarding the handling of personal data.
The previous Data Protection Act in Sweden already took personal data seriously. In the education sector, we saw this clearly in the discussions between municipalities and major cloud service providers regarding classroom use. However, data handling varied across EU member states, and the pace of technological change made a unified legal framework essential—hence the GDPR.
What Does This Mean for Loops?
We welcome GDPR and the requirements it places on us as a service provider. For us, it has always been a given to treat your personal information with the utmost care—just as we would expect our own data to be handled. We ask for your consent before storing any information you provide, and you always have the right to export or delete your data if you wish to exercise your right to be forgotten. You should feel completely confident in your relationship with us. Thanks to focused efforts, we have been GDPR-compliant since early May 2018.
What This Means in Practice
GDPR requires both organizational and technical measures on our part. From a technical standpoint, we have reviewed what data we store and where it is stored to ensure compliance. We have also updated our systems to support data export and deletion capabilities. In the unlikely event of a data breach, we have established clear procedures for incident management and communication to minimize consequences and ensure immediate and transparent information.
Stay Informed
GDPR also gives you the right to be informed if we begin working with new subprocessors who handle personal data, or if we terminate relationships with existing ones. Send an email to hello@loopseducation.com if you would like to receive automatic notifications about such changes.
P.S. We will never use this email address for anything other than updates about our subprocessors. You can request removal at any time by contacting us or by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of our emails.
