Loops Education
We at Loops Education are a small, dynamic and committed group with a common goal; to make learning accessible to all, whoever they are and no matter where they are. Through broad knowledge in technology and pedagogy, we have built Loops, an innovative digital tool that makes this possible.
About Loops Education and what we believe in
We believe that learning is a journey and that that journey grows when it is driven by curiosity and discovery. That is why we see Loops as a digital map where you create and share exciting learning trips with your students or colleagues. You can follow each individual participant on their journey and also deepen their experience and learning through collaboration and formative dialogue. Plan and fill your own travels with knowledge and activities or let yourself be inspired by others.
Traditional education was created for a different time, when our world and our needs looked different. Today, creativity and collaboration are the key to committed learning, innovation and successful organizational development.
To ensure that Loops enables deep and rich learning, we have based the product on proven research and pedagogical expertise. With Loops, you no longer need to follow old maps, instead we can be map writers ourselves and direct our learning towards the future we want to face.
We work for a future built on curiosity, sustainability and trust. A future where information and education are a human right for all, not a privilege for only a few. However, the road there is full of challenges and the goal is often obscured by growing polarization, dissemination of disinformation and monopolization of knowledge. That is why we need your help, only together can we reduce the knowledge gaps and make learning accessible to everyone. Together, we can make Loops a role model that shows that it is cooperation that will enrich and lead us on our common learning journey towards the future.
The learning you need for the future you want.

Loops history
The idea of Loops was produced in 2012 as a part of Lin Education and the original name of the product was På Riktigt (For Real). It was a joint project between four municipalities in the west of Sweden; Varberg, Kungsbacka, Stenungsund and Alingsås and Lin Education.
På Riktigt got off to a unique start and is definitely built by educators for educators.
In June 2012, ten teachers from each of the four municipalities got together with programmers, designers and pedagogic process leaders for three days to put into word and image what they wanted the tool to solve and what it should look like.
During the autumn of 2012 we came up with the idea to outline the content like a map instead of as a linear design and since then this has been central in the product.
In both På Riktigt and later in Loops we have organised content in a number of nodes and stressed the fact that communication using film and sound is as natural as communication using text. It has also always been our thought that it should be easy to build content yourself and that it is made up by a mix of the author’s own material and other interesting content that is linked from the internet and other digital resources.
In 2014 På Riktigt won an award for “Best digital teaching materials” in Sweden.
Rather early on in the process, several large companies discovered På Riktigt and we built a version of the product aimed at the enterprise sector.
In 2017 we had accumulated enough experience and feedback from our users to invest in a big remodelling of our product. That is also when we changed the name from På Riktigt to Loops. This was a part of our effort to launch our product internationally.
From På Riktigt to Loops
The biggest differences were that the dialogue between the leader and the participants moved into the nodes of the loops and that it is now possible to combine different kinds of media in the nodes. Earlier the dialogues had been collected in a blog-like flow and we had a node for each medium. We also attempted to build the same product for both school and enterprise.
During the autumn of 2017 Loops was launched.
During 2017 Lin Education was acquired by Summa Equity, who in turn sold Lin Education to Xllnc, which has now become Foxway. Loops Education then became a separate company owned by Summa.
In the spring of 2020, Loops Education was sold to Skooler and Viking Ventures. Loops is now a part of the group as one of three products in “by Skooler”, with Skooler’s own LMS and mConnect within an infrastructure around Microsoft Teams.
Today Loops is used in schools and companies in several countries along with Sweden, such as for example the USA, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway and India.
We are happy to see our product make a difference in educational processes in many different settings and we stick to our idea of developing our product in close collaboration with our users. This last year we have made the product “cleaner” and we have made it easier to get started. We have created guides to facilitate for our users to get started with Loops on their own. We have also produced support pages full of content and helpful loops for all target groups.
We have also invested time to make Loops work well in different digital ecosystems through onboarding solutions and Send-to features. During the spring of 2021 we have also released 3 apps, where the Teams app is the most sought after. We have also developed an online payment solution and this new home page!
